2013 Water Essay Contest!

2013 marks the 12th year of the Metro Water District Essay Contest. Please encourage your students to participate this fall. The deadline for this year’s contest is October 18, 2013. The topic is water conservation.

Sixth, seventh and eighth graders in Bartow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties were invited to participate in the 11th annual Water Essay Contest. Students were asked to write a 300 to 500-word essay about stormwater pollution and prevention. Once all essays were received, a subcommittee of the Education Technical Coordinating Committee (TCC) came together to judge the essays. The best essay among the City of Atlanta and county winners was selected as the Regional Winner.
